The story of the man who took down a mountain

Is 'no way' just a state of mind? (August 30th 2026)

There was a time in my life, not that long ago, to be fair, when one of my favourite pastimes was watching Bollywood movies. (If you're looking for recommendations, let me know!)

One day, the friend who was in charge of making these recommendations for me said - You must watch 'Manjhi', and this is truly where our story begins!

Here are 2 things I want you to keep in mind before I tell you about this story:
1. It is a TRUE story
2. You won't be able to say 'there is no way' (of doing something) again 🤷‍♀️

I'll tell you later why I'm sharing this with you today, so let's start!

Manjhi is the true story of Dashrath Manjhi, a poor labourer who lived in a village in India, a village so unimportant to the authorities that they never connected it to the rest of the world.

One day, Manjhi's wife needed to be taken to hospital, but between the village and the hospital stood a mountain, making what should have been an easy journey into one that took more than 3 times that. The wife never stood a chance and died on the long and unnecessary road to get help.

After her death, and in sheer rage, Manjhi decided to take things into his own hands. He picked up a hammer and a chisel and started breaking through the mountain. Even though everyone was laughing at him and calling him crazy, day after day, week after week, Manjhi showed up at the mountain at dawn, returning home in the evening, just to do the same again the next day.

After some years, the villagers saw the results of his efforts and slowly joined him to help him take down the mountain. It took him around 22 years, but at the end, a dirt road stood where a mountain once was.

The authorities had no choice but to pave the road, reducing the distance to the hospital from 55 km to just 15. The road has been named after Manjhi, a simple man who refused to allow things to be just because others wouldn't do anything about them!

I love this movie. I had to buy the DVD because streaming it was such a challenge back in those days, but by far this is one to remember.

I wanted to share this story with you because not everything in life is as hard as taking down a mountain. Even if something we really want feels impossible, it doesn't mean it really is. It just means you haven't found the way of doing it yet.

There is always another way. There is probably also a step you can already take to get yourself a little closer to where you want to go. It's a question of mindset, for sure, but it's also a question of allowing yourself to let new possibilities come in. Not just find the negatives, the reasons why not or why this is a bad idea.

If you have something you want to do, start by listing all of the possibilities and ideas you can think of. Move on to crossing out the ones that won't work, and then (after you crossed out the entire list...) look at it again and ask, 'why can this work'?

When you retire your ego mind that wants everything to be perfect and in order, you allow your soul to come through and help you see you have more to go with than you initially believed. Play with this a little. Think about things in different physical locations. Imagine talking with three different people you actually look up to and hearing what they might suggest.

Other people have already said it - if you can see it in your mind's eye, you can do it!

If you need help finding a path that can work for you, then get in touch! It's my most favourite thing in the world to do, helping people cut through their own mountains! come! I've got all the tools for the journey!

With love,
einav

The most inspiring conversation I've watched all week! (Sure, they talk about wealth, but the real inspiration is Robert's story about the time he nearly gave up, and the life that then transpired. Watch it - I think you'll be better off for doing so)

Dottie's Corner

It's been a quiet week here on my throne. The drama of breaking my tooth feels long gone; only the lack of my previously favourite toys is noticeable in the air.
So I stay tucked in, letting everyone else get on with their business as the summer holiday is coming to a close. They didn't have the heart to tell me yet, but I can feel it in my bones that bigger things are coming. A strange word, 'Uni ', has been mentioned a lot, and I hope it is some new kind of snack they are planning on getting...
