The case of the annoying day

When you have an annoying day, how do you turn it all around for better & enticing new energies? (March 1st 2026)

The school run and I have a love-hate relationship. Since we moved to the new house, the school takes about 30 minutes to get to, but sometimes, a whole lot longer. In the mornings, I am usually on strict orders to say nothing, ask nothing and breathe as little as possible.

On the way home, it's usually the exact opposite. My daughter connects our greatest hits playlist, and the car fills with brilliant music, with us singing along, air-drumming or just chatting about anything that is (strictly) not school.

The other day, as we were making our way back from school, it seemed as if all the (and I say this with love...) idiots of the world had decided to come forward; One person jumped into the road unexpectedly. Another person turned without indicating. Another driver slammed their brakes so abruptly that I nearly smashed straight into them. Another driver nearly got us when they ignored the common rules of the roundabout.

By the end of the journey, I declared to my daughter that I was all 'peopled out' and when we got home, all I wanted was sit on my sofa and switch off the lights.

As I had a meeting coming up a little later on, I asked myself, other than meditation and breathing, what do people do to protect their energy, and create a more 'at ease' and flow to keep them going with the day (or even the week, or month...)

So if you're having an annoying day, here are some things you can try for yourself, and I am not including 'ice cream', because apparently, well, let's just say there are slightly healthier options out there!

1. Change where you are. I'm not saying leave the country, but change rooms - go outside, position yourself in a place where the air flows differently and quickly, you will see, and feel, that you can breathe again.

2. Move your body.
Star jumps are good, dancing is awesome, and marching in one place while clapping your hands above your head is wonderful. Anything to get you off the sofa and into raising your heartbeat. You can sing, too, if that's an option!

3. Park your ego. My favourite thing to say, if you didn't know this yet! Why? Because your ego is responsible for the wild stories you tell yourself. 'It's not your fault'. 'They did this to you'. 'You did everything you could'. 'You are the victim here'... Nope! None of that! Notice the direction of these stories and ask yourself, what if there was another side to this story I can't see, yet?

4. Icy water for your face.
Bound to 'pattern interrupt' whatever is going on in your mind and body, and help you to take a deep breath - long enough and deep enough to see you don't have to get back to the way you were feeling just a minute ago.

5. Laugh your face off.
Or at least find some funny stand-ups and practice allowing a smile to enter your face...

6. Assortment: Get into nature * hug a tree * sort a drawer out * do something selfless * cuddle a pet *

I hope these help a little.

My mum tells me that when I was young, if I was ever upset about anything (probably one of my brothers being annoying), to help me get out of the dark cloud and into a lighter mood, all she needed to do was suggest I go and have a shower. As a fish (pisces), water has always been my go-to. Nowadays, I wish I had a hot tub, but it's on my movie board!!
(more on that, soon!).

This week in Healing Conversations

This week, I chatted with Holly Erin Copeland about her journey awakening humanity to the truth that our inner landscapes and outer world are not separate, but one living whole

In this episode, we are joined by returning guest Holly Erin Copeland, an author, speaker, and former ecologist who now guides others through the transformative practice of inner rewilding. In this conversation, we explore what it means to truly reconnect with the land, the importance of listening to our inner wisdom, and how falling in love with our own nature can shape our relationship with the Earth.

You'll hear Holly share powerful moments from her personal journey: leaving a conventional career for a life guided by deeper purpose, navigating major life changes, and finding peace through practices of daily connection. The conversation delves into the Four Pillars of Inner Rewilding, Awaken, Attune, Allow, and Align—and offers practical insights on how we can move beyond the urge to “fix” ourselves and the planet to embrace presence, simplicity, and authentic belonging.

Join einav avni and Holly Erin Copeland for an honest and inspiring dialogue about healing, courage, and the magic of living in relationship with the world—both inside and out.

Dottie's Corner

See this ball? So back off - it's mine!!

My person took me to the green around the corner, and even though she brought the ball, she kept trying to take it away! Not cool, HUUMAN, not cool!

But I must say, one thing I do admire about you people is your ability to come up with creative ideas, when you stop feeling so judged and insecure, that is.

My person saw that due to the slightly short distance between my belly and the ground, I was getting irritated by the wet grass, and she brought out this onesie, and hey presto!

Do more of that, there's a reason why you have this capability...!

Some recent testimonials I received from people I've worked with.
If you take just one thing away from them is that healing is possible; we just need to find the right path...

I work extensively with people to help them transform their lives from fears, limitations and compromises, to harmony, alignment and joy, or in other words, helping people find natural healing to mind, body and soul.
