this question might get you by surprise, so I won't spoil it, but please read on! (Dec' 14th)
So much of what we do, think and repeat in a day comes without us having to spend any real time creating it. We are so used to our automatic behaviours that when we do need to pause and figure something out, we feel like we've been given a huge challenge to overcome.
Shall I be more specific? Here you go:
We get up at the same time every day...
We brush our teeth in the same way, with the same hand...
We have the same thoughts, in the same order...
We get triggered by the same stuff and the same people...
We tell ourselves the same thing we said a hundred times before...
We talk to ourselves in the same unforgiving way every time we do something we've already done before...
So when I speak with people and ask them this question, I always know we'll have to smile together at how challenging it is for most people to come up with the answer...
Let's see how well you do, shall we?
Tell me, then, what are 5 things you like about yourself... not your appearance, mind!
If you're invested in the exercise, you may have brought over a piece of paper and are writing it down (yay!), so as you are mulling this over, I'd just like to ask that you double-check to make sure there are no toxic traits hiding there in plain sight. For example:
Kindness is in, generosity is out
Caring is in, helpful is out
Why is it so difficult for us to find things we like about ourselves?
Well, mostly because we spend so much time telling ourselves what muppets we are and how we're really not good enough, not to mention how stupid of us to say that thing to that person three weeks ago, last Friday.
We're so busy telling ourselves off that we forget there is a person underneath all the layers, and one that 100% deserves compassion, caring, forgiveness, and so much love. After all, none of us is doing anything to hurt anyone else on purpose, and all of us are trying our best to make life better for ourselves, and a little too often for everyone else around us.
Here are some helpful suggestions for making life a little more fun and a little less obnoxious...
1. When you come to protest over how someone is treating you, ask yourself if you could say the same about yourself if the shoe were on the other foot...
2. When you come to make any decision about anything in your life, make sure you are following the advice of your soul, NOT that of your ego...
3. When someone is asking you to do something or go somewhere that you really, truly don't feel like doing, but then have a voice that says 'I probably should', turn this whole thing into a curiosity... what might I find, learn or meet if I said yes?
(Do you know The Heartbeat Song by Kelly Clarkson? In this song, she says:
...I, I wasn't even gonna go out
But I never would've had a doubt
If I'd have known where I'd be now...
4. If, on the other hand, someone is suggesting something and you have a visceral reaction to the idea of going or doing, then find a way to say no. Boundaries are such an underrated option these days!
5. When you're about to say something nasty about yourself, stop, turn it around and say something loving about yourself instead. You are that!
So? Will you try?
This week in Healing Conversations...

This week in Healing Conversations, I chatted with Kristen Renee about her journey of healing from rheumatoid arthritis.
In this episode, einav avni sits down with Kristen Renee, who shares her remarkable journey of healing from rheumatoid arthritis. Diagnosed with an “incurable” autoimmune condition, Kristen Renee spent a decade exploring treatment options, from Western medicine to intuition-led practices, before discovering a holistic framework that transformed not only her health but every aspect of her life.
Join us as Kristen Renee uncovers the emotional and practical shifts she made, including the impact of language, mindset, and self-love. Learn how she eventually let go of her diagnosis, found her purpose, and developed the 12 healing principles she now uses to help others walk a gentler path toward wellbeing. Whether you’re navigating your own health journey or curious about holistic healing, this episode promises heartfelt insight, hope, and actionable inspiration.
More about Kristen:
Kristen is an author, speaker, and transformational coach who guides people to reclaim their health, transform their wealth, and step fully into their potential. She combines high-level corporate experience with the proven framework she created through her own transformation to help others achieve lasting change.
In her thirties, an autoimmune diagnosis sparked a ten-year health crisis, bringing the avid athlete and always-on-the-go pleaser to her knees. In her forties, financial challenges pushed her to confront remaining limiting beliefs and patterns. After pouring immense time, energy, and resources into every protocol and healing practice, she realised that true transformation comes through the mind-body connection and by addressing all parts of your life. Through this journey, she developed the 12-principle Healthy Foundation Framework.

![]() | Imagine how you would feel if you were sleeping on the sofa, just to be awakened by some inconceivable words from an outside intruder!? This is exactly what happened when the family was watching a silly Christmas movie, and this dog started saying things that shouldn't be repeated! I did what any other respected dog would do and barked him down! The rudeness! But when I finally got him to leave, I went back to sleep and life was good again! |
