The best Version of You

Feeling stuck is one of the most common way people feel, so what would it be like to bring in some movement and flow?

There used to be a joke about freelancers that went something like this: When X, the freelancer, transitioned from this world and went up to heaven, he was met at the gates with balloons and party banners, as well as an unusually large group of angels. The main angel explained - we worked out your hours, and you are the oldest man to have ever lived!!! 😄
I first heard this silly joke when I was freelancing for Tesco (one of our main supermarkets) and was putting in around 80 hours a week, so didn't find it all that funny... I did love my job, though (I was doing Quality Assurance for the backend systems...).
Anyway, I can't exactly remember why I started with this joke, but I was somehow going to link it with the feeling of being stuck, a feeling I was familiar with for a long time back then.
I loved my job, I loved my colleagues, I loved my salary, but I didn't really love the relationship I was in, and at that time, didn't feel I had the courage to break things off.

Einstein once said You can't fix a problem with the same head that created it, and I felt this was the number one truest sentence ever to be said. I didn't know how to fix it, but one day, when it was my deadline to give an answer if I wanted to go back home with my (now ex-husband) for a new job of my dreams and all the serious benefits that came with it, in a moment of hungover clarity, I said no. I didn't want to go back into a life I didn't want, and thus started 'the long journey home'... (this is a name of a book that is not currently relevant).

For me, getting out of the stuck feeling took the courage to jump ship, something I realise I have done a few times since (funny how patterns introduce themselves to us!).

I said no to going back, and had to start rebuilding my life from nearly scratch (only, of course, to rebuild them again a few years later, but this is all part of the journey, or at least MY journey... 😝).

For those of you feeling stuck and not in the state of mind to uproot every little thing you currently know, do and have, here's another idea of moving yourself past feeling stuck and into your next best version...

Here's what you do:
1. You take your age, and you put a dot in between the numbers. For example, if you are 37, you put 3.7 and so on, and now this is you, version 3 point 7...
2. Now that you found your version number, you can decide in which way it is going to improve on your previous version.
3. I recommend writing down up to 5 things you feel stuck on, or things you know could be a whole lot better. Now, instead of focusing on the 'stuck', you actually going to focus on the 'getting better'.
4. For example, if you feel like stress is your biggest challenge right now, you probably also have a clear idea of both the things that cause you stress and the things you have already tried in terms of getting this changed.
5. What are these? Write them down
6. Now ask yourself, if I was going to seriously turn this on its head, what would I do? If you are in this way inclined, an idea or two will pop straight into your head with some immediate truths you know you know but avoided until now.
If nothing pops up, imagine that your best friend has presented this issue to you and you are now in charge of finding some advice you will always be able to gloat about...
7. What I am trying to say is that you do already have it inside you, but too often fears, doubt, lack of self-trust and more are creating a veil you can't see through.

It's the same if your biggest challenge is a lack of money, not finding your soul mate, still figuring out your purpose, and so many more. The trick here is not to look for guaranteed success, but to figure out a few things you could try and that will move you forward from where you are currently stuck.

If you are stuck in a loop of chronic pain or illness, I would start by finding people who have healed themselves (naturally?) and make a point to chat with them...

This week in Healing Conversations...

This week in Healing Conversations, I was joined by Lynda Samphire to talk about how Microdosing can help regulate your nervous system (where so many other methods can't)

In today’s episode, “Regulate Your Nervous System,” host Einav Avni, an alignment coach and energy healer, is joined by transformational and intuitive guide Lynda Samphire. Together, they journey through the often-overlooked spaces of transformation—those subtle “in-betweens” like dreams, sleep, and altered states—where authentic healing and integration take root.

Lynda shares her deeply personal story of how profound grief shaped her relationship with her own nervous system and led her to discover the powerful healing potential of working with plant medicines, particularly through the practice of microdosing Amanita muscaria. The conversation peels back the layers of how our nervous systems can become stuck in states of stress or anxiety, and offers insights into how gentle awareness, somatic practices, and supportive allies like plant medicines can help us return to a state of restoration.

Whether you’re new to these concepts or seeking deeper healing beyond the surface, this episode is an invitation to get curious about your own healing journey, explore the transformative power of “liminal spaces,” and find new ways to come home to yourself.

Talking about stress, fears, doubts and staying stuck, here's a video I recorded earlier this week about a couple of ways in which your brain impacts your healing, for better or worse.
I think you might find something interesting to take away from this...

Dottie's Corner

I am a little bit embarrassed, but it seems my secret is out... There is nothing I enjoy more than snacking on these gorgeous green leaves, especially when they stick out from between the tiles like that...
My HUUMANS are always worried when they see my green-eating habits, but I tell them I do this to help maintain my guy health, something they could benefit from doing too, if I'm honest!
Anyway, I won't let them shame me out of a good habit, and same goes for you, too - if it brings you joy and doesn't harm anyone, what is stopping you from doing it???

Client's best quotes

If you're curious what people are saying about the results they get from our sessions, I bring here some quotes I get each week from people after I check in with them.
